Boots and Jeans Riders
United States
Приєднався 8 лют 2019
Recently completing 367 days on the road...We have a strong passion for living on our motorcycles. We want to share our passion for traveling, and our knowledge and training in slow skill maneuvers.. To inspire others to visit some of the places we've had the pleasure of visiting.
Throughout years, we have ridden to the lower 48 states 4 times, and have taken 12 long distance (coast to coast) trips around the United States, Canada and Alaska.
We have met wonderful people on this journey, and as we tell our story, we are often asked if we had a UA-cam channel.
Why "Boots and Jeans Riders"? Well...throughout our travels we visited over 170 National parks and Monuments. While most people are dressed in casual wear, ( shorts, walking shoes, flip flops etc.) we are usually the only two in Motorcycle Boots and Jeans, YES even on beaches. ENJOY!!!

WOW! That pattern is so much fun, I really enjoyed WATCHING you weave your way around and thru it. Thanks for showing others how it's done. Great video.
Rich! I don't know why I have never noticed it before. You have a nice riding posture. The bend in your arms are perfect! Thank you for sharing another cool motorcycle exercise! It looks challenging and fun! Big Hugs to you and Kake! 😊
Ahh, circular cone weave. I know it well.
OMG! I have to try this pattern... it looks like an exciting challenge... never seen this pattern and thanks for sharing it. I think it is time to buy some cones! Keep these coming, fun and we are learning something.
Hello Rich and Kake. Thanks for the video this pattern looks very similar to the circular cone weave but with gates. I’m going to try this if I can find a large empty parking lot
No cones were permenantly damaged in the ptoduction of this video !!
Hi there Rich and Kake! You really know how to handle that bike! Thanks for the video.😍
Excellent class, but I know you're out there because of that perfect blue sky.
Hello my friends... I like twisties😁🤣😎
Love this ❤ only thing I'd need is a good chuck box
Glad you love it. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it.
Your voices are so cool calm and relaxed reminds me of an r&b radio host very soothing i love it def earned a follow ! looking forward to more adventures
Awesome! Thank you! welcome aboard. Really appreciate the compliment.
Union break....LOL!! great video
Tell me about it...He came just in time.
I loved riding the twisted sisters
We want you ride it again
I have had other Honda's before buying my 2010 GL1800 at 65. I had always wanted one since I saw the first Aspencade. So as a retirement present to myself I bought one. The day after my last day at work I took off on a 5,000 mile road trip. Now I still have my VT1100 Shadow and enjoy riding both.
Thanks for sharing! I had a 92 Aspencade. It was beautiful (Blue) and very comfortable. Man, you weren't fooling around (The day after my last day at work I took off on a 5,000 mile road trip.) That's fantastic.
@@BootsandJeansRiders I don't have time to waste, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2021
I'm in my 30s, i bought a goldwing because Im sick of my harley breaking down, I'm disabled and like comfort, and my wife gets a throne on the back lol
Man, we don't see many 30-year-old people on Goldwings. I know your wife must be in paradise sitting on her throne.
Rich - you are so right. With age comes wisdom. With wisdom comes a Gold Wing.
Amen !!!
Great commentary, appreciate the insight! Every year I scroll through the classifieds looking at Goldwing bikes. I am glad nobody seems to want to buy them, you can get a TON of bike for the money. I primarily ride dual sport but really would love to stretch out and do some multi day camping trips. Goldwing seems already setup to haul gear and be comfortable, one of these days the right deal will just have to end up in my garage!
They are great bikes and very comfy. Good luck looking for the right deal. You will love the wing.
Alot of my friends call my bike a GeezerGlide, 🤣🤣🤣
GeezerGlide...I like it!
I just watched this one again I think it might be time for a rematch. What do you think ?
Hey Kev, that sounds great, but let’s do it together when we meet.
Deal! but we will have to film it and post lol
@@Supermankev2001 No problem.
I never knew the average street was 24 feet. Thanks for the great videos.
Thanks for watching...Yeah, 24 feet for the average side street, from line to line. The lanes are 12', not counting the shoulders. With the shoulders, the width varies.
@@BootsandJeansRiders Love the info, thank you! Dig the vibe and content of your channel.
I appreciate that.
Beemer and Burgman guys on the internet forums know there machines. Goldwing guys pretty good too. Harley guys... Vroom Vroom🤪
LMAO!
Old people ride goldwings because they're the only ones who can afford one! Im the only young person i know who rides one, at 35. I went from the CB300R to a 2005 GL1800A anniversary edition. Initially i loved the idea of having cb radio but it doesnt work right in Australia. But the smoothness, the power of it, the features. Its just a joy to ride. On my 300 Id do 200kms and want to die! On the Goldwing i can ride all day. I do worry though, no peace of mind for me, i fear the FI error.
Yes...You are among the few at 35 with a Gen 5 wing. They are truly amazing machines.
This was a great video Rich
Thanks, I appreciate it.
I'm glad to hear Kake wasn't injured. These types of tutorial videos are invaluable. You both do an amazing job showing folks and helping them in general.
Thanks Eric. No injuries and you know we continued practice until she got it smoother.
Thanks I'm good, I know what cause the drop, I also know not to try and stop it.
Thank you for the video. What is the minimum feet diameter you can do a U-turn with a (pre-2018) Goldwing?
Good question. You can do sub 18' feet with the Gen 5. Check out this video and let me know what you think. ua-cam.com/video/M_ni1NByEhA/v-deo.html
@@BootsandJeansRiders impressive! I just watched the video. I didn't know a Goldwing can do sub 18' just because it has a longer wheel base than most bikes out there. You prob won't be winning any speed cone competitions with it, but it's satisfying to know it can do a tight U-turn. Thanks for your efforts!
Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you too, I appreciate it.
Well, there ya go. I was just asking about Miss Kake's practice times and POOF! there she is. Am I good, or what? Hahahahaha. Great practice idea, I like it. Thanks for sharing. You both are great riders.
You asked she delivered lol. We may record our monthly Moto Workout too.
TaDaaaa! Here I am, See you at the next practice session.
@@karenwilliams3141 Hahaha. If you ever put content under your own channel, I am your first, and currently only, subscriber. Don't forget that. Hahahahahaha
Thanks dear. Rode a scooter with gears on left hand but 21 years ago, although from 1984 to 2003 in India. Been driving a manual car though but now getting my overseas motorcycle license converted and have passed compulsory 2 days Learner’s Course in Australia, knowledge test, range & road test etc. Now going for License Assessment. Although I know I shall manage a motorcycle in slow speed but a test is test. I have little to No experience in foot gears. Have done some test rides on bikes but the first time I drove a motorcycle on range and on road, I easily took Suzuki GSX125 to 5-6th gear on roads of 50-60-70 kmph limits. I finished slow ride in 15 seconds against the minimum 10 to pass. Yes, you are right that it depends on the machine. So, in a test situation, I think I shall ask the instructor and go from there, 1st gear being the thumb rule 😊
Thanks, Jolly I'm sure you will do just fine. Stay positive and focused.
@@BootsandJeansRiders thanks for your wishes 💕 I got my full Rider’s license here in Australia as conversion of my Indian motorcycle license after a range and road test
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it Derick.
Hello family I cannot thank you enough for continuing to exhibit how we can practice safe riding on Goldwing motorcycles, and motorcycles. That is not a easy task to do and some people think on a bike that size and I commend you both. I appreciate your videos. please keep them coming so we can view more, and if you could send us a video where we could actually Measure out the space to place the cones so we can practice if we can’t get close to you to have a formal practice session food for thought. Love you family we miss you a lot from Willie and Melody. Always keeping you guys in our prayers. We miss you all. Looking forward to doing some training with you before the year is out. Thank you again keep up the good work safe raining it’s always fun fun and pleasurable. Thank you again.
Error and spelling instead of raining is supposed to be riding driver era .
Hey Pham...I'll send the basic offset cone weave measurements. We are in the lot often, so let us know ASAP. We are leaving July 15th, for another extended Bikecation and aren't conducting any formal sessions the rest of the year. If you are serious, we will make an exception for you.
LOL I got it 😊
Love the Bohn Armor! Excellent practice scenario team!
Yeah, Bohn also has great customer service. Looking at purchasing more gear from them. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks for sharing. I need to practice practice practice ❤
You are so welcome...Yeah, we get as much practice as we can. Go get yours in lol.
You welcome, Yes continue to it builds Confidence, Control and Command of your bike.
What is the space between the cones
Side to side...They are 24' apart.
Are you guys coming to Florida in October for bike October fest
Yes sir, we will be there for sure, if all goes well.
YEP! Another excellent video Thank You!
Thank you too John, we appreciate it.
I love my Wing. Comfortable, smooth, fast enough. Reliable, and people don't believe it's a 2002 bike, they think it's brand new. I won't be going back to BMW's, lovely bikes though they are.
All true (Comfortable, smooth, fast enough. Reliable). I won't be changing brands anytime soon.
This off set cone weave is a tough drill. I tried this once at a police sponsored course and couldn’t get it. I need to practice this and U-turns more. Kind of a series of U-turns overall.
Yeah, it takes some time to get it smoothly. In basic Motor Officer School, the cones are tighter, and I struggled with this pattern. I passed, but it was a challenge.
Thanks again 😊
You're welcome 😊 I appreciate you watching.
Hey guys great training. I love that you kept the drop in because that is real life. It happens to best ridders. Keep up the good works. Always room to learn. God bless
Thanks! Will do! Yup, drops are part of the process. Have a great day.
A picnic basket 🧺 !!!
Lol.
Great video. However they say it is better to drop on the cone course then to ……..
Absolutely, better in the lot than on the street,
Great video!🎉
Thank you! 😁
That's true!! Gotta look where you want to go. Clutch is control is very important also. Great info💯👍🏿
Exactly! Thanks TD. Ride safe bruh.
Nice video guys. Is the 4 squares similar to the intersection? I’ve never associated off set come weave with riding twisty roads now that I know I’m going to practice this more often. Looking forward to seeing you guys in Canmore in July
Hey Rich, The pattern we are referring to, we call it the 40' Square. That video is coming out next. Man, we can't wait to get back to Canmore. Looking forward to meeting you.
Gday mate all fair points some of them well annoy you but maybe not so much others i do agree with the air filter i have watched heaps of vlogs on changing it and boy there is a heap of crap to take off especially if you have added accessories ,now i don't own a goldwing yet maybe soon though and i like to see owners views on what they think of there machines , can you imagine how much this would weigh if it had metal parts instead of plastic yes things break but i don't think honda had it designed to go down dirt roads either ,maybe go see a plastic welder for you broken bit . With your paint maybe ceramacoat it give a bit mor protection against scratching .I watched a video that would put jerry paledinos bagging of goldwings to shame this guy threw the wing around like a toy very experienced rider it was in the u.s.a of all places in a harley parking lot anyway good to hear your opinion on things that annoy you take care .
Gday mate. What a great comment. Of all the things I don't like, there is so much more that I really love.
Can’t say I’ve never did that 😂😂.
LOL...Yup, it comes with the territory.
Hello good people. Looking forward to watching but wanted to be the first to comment!!!
LOL...We are the same way.
Never ever have I ever had a HD let me down. I moved to Indian for something different. Ride on, be safe.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
Thanx4post. We are beginning to buy/test cubes. Appreciate your time
Great to hear! Thanks for watching.
which camera is this. You need to upgrade, this video looks like it was recorded in the 90's
Could you check your YT settings and change it to 4k? I've watched it on several devices and it looks fine. The splitting was an older camera and the accident was with my smartphone. All set to 4k.
@@BootsandJeansRiders You are correct. It was my settings. I feel so stupid. Thank you! and of course i apologize for being ignorant. Have a great day!
